April 9, 2013 – The Original Cakerie has been awarded the British Retailer Consortium’s (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety.

April 9, 2013 – The Original Cakerie has been awarded the British Retailer Consortium’s (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety.

The Original Cakerie’s production facilities, in Delta, B.C. and London, Ont. have achieved a Grade A, the highest grade possible in an audit program.

The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety is a product safety and quality certification program used in 90 countries around the world. “Many U.K., North American, and European retailers, will only consider business with suppliers who have gained certification to the appropriate BRC Global Standard,” says the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety’s website.

The Original Cakerie was has been around since 1979 and has grown from a small industrial bakery to one that creates desserts with a homemade taste for customers across North America.
