Buttonless welds on Ashworth’s Omni-Pro line

September 7, 2010, Winchester, VA – Ashworth’s
Omni-Pro conveyor belt, featuring Zero-Tension, 360° Buttonless Welds,
eliminates bacteria entrapments from the belt design and can withstand the
highest loads in its class.

An automated
process precisely positions each rod in the belt, then melts and fuses the rod
and link together, creating strong, smooth welds, free from surface
imperfections and crevices that can house bacteria. 

Omni-Pro’s link design includes a patented wear shield that prevents
welds from contacting spiral cage bars, allowing the belt to run smoothly with
less cage bar wear. Ashworth also uses a special coining process on its
Omni-Pro line, reducing warping and stretching, and increasing overall belt
life.
