December 5, 2011, Orangeville, ON – Organic artisan chocolate company giddy yoyo recently won the 2011 People's Choice Award from the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA).

The People's Choice award was handed out during the CHFA Expo East in Toronto. With approximately 2,900 attendees and 550 exhibitors at the event, giddy yoyo managed to stand out from the crowd and capture the hearts of the voters who sampled the artisan chocolate. Anyone attending or exhibiting at the event was allowed to vote.

Giddy yoyo's raw, pure, 75 per cent dark chocolate bars are made from non-roasted organic cacao imported from the mineral rich mountains of Ecuador. The company is run by Mark Handy and Bridgitte Longshore, who share a keen interest in the highest integrity pure "superfoods" and a deep love of chocolate.

The secret to winning the award, according to Handy, is the special flavour of the antioxidant rich giddy yoyo chocolate and how it makes people feel.

"The real magic of this chocolate is what happens in your brain," Handy said. "This raw, organic dark chocolate has mood boosting properties and an aphrodisiac quality. You feel a magical effect that you just don't get elsewhere."

Handy explained that the cacao they use is an heirloom variety specially grown at high elevation in Ecuador. Because it is naturally smooth and sweet, and does not have a bitter quality, it does not need to be heavily sweetened to be palatable.

Giddy yoyo chocolate contains no artificial additives, preservatives or emulsifiers, nuts, dairy, refined sugar, soy or lecithin, and is manufactured in a dedicated facility soon to be Certified Organic by Ecocert Canada.
