
October 3, 2011, Zurich, Switzerland – Barry Callebaut has completed the sale of its European consumer business Stollwerck to the Belgian Baronie Group.
The sale, announced on July 11, includes all of the business and all assets of Stollwerck and its affiliates, including five factories in Germany, Belgium and Switzerland. The two parties agreed not to disclose any financial details of the transaction.
Based in Germany, Stollwerck has sales revenue of approximately EUR 500 million and volumes sold total more than 100,000. Stollwerck's volumes consist of private label business, branded chocolate products (Sarotti, Alprose, Alpia and Jacques) and co-manufacturing for third parties.
