September 27, 2010, Las Vegas, NV – A new trade show for the baking industry will launch in Chicago next year, offering a meeting place and educational forum during the two-year gap in the International Baking Industry Exposition rotation.

Capitalizing on the success of the IBIE, the Retail Bakers of America (RBA), American Bakers Association (ABA) and the Bakery Equipment Manufacturers & Allieds (BEMA) are teaming up to launch All Things Baking.

The show will be held at the Renaissance Shaumburg Hotel and Convention Center just outside Chicago, IL from October 2 through October 4, 2011. It will be held in lieu of RBA’s standalone annual event, the American Retail Bakery Exposition, and is being designed to appeal to a wide audience, including professional bakers, caterers, restaurateurs, pastry chefs, cake decorators, chocolatiers, bakery directors and other culinary professionals who want to learn about coming consumer trends, hone their skills and get the information, answers and strategies they need to make their businesses more productive and profitable.

“More than ever, it’s imperative that our industry – both suppliers and bakers – are in tune with the changing tastes, trends and behaviours of the American public,” said Rick Boone, owner of Rick’s Bakery and president of the RBA. “By listening and responding to consumer demands, we can collectively meet the mandate for new products, flavours, presentations and experiences that will keep our industry profitable and thriving, now and in the future.”

The Chicago metropolitan area was chosen as the site of the new show based on the heavy concentration of retail and wholesale bakeries in the vicinity, as well as the number of equipment and ingredient suppliers headquartered in the Midwest. Moreover, Chicago has a proven ability to attract trade show participants from a wide geographic region, and for the variety of dining and entertainment options available to business travelers.

Additional details about the event, including information about competitions, demonstrations, educational sessions, participating exhibitors and more will be revealed in the coming months at www.allthingsbaking2011.com , as well as through social media, the industry press and a direct marketing campaign.
