ABB Robotics makes ABI preferred partner

September 28, 2010, Toronto – Bakery automation equipment manufacturer ABI has been awarded preferred partner status by ABB Robotics.

ABI’s integration of ABB’s advanced robotic technology has increased the efficiency and accuracy of all ABI bakery equipment solutions since the partnership began a year ago. ABI has also developed strong working relationships with Schunk, Festo and Sick IVP, making sure that the vision systems and end-of-arm tooling used in its bakery lines are of the highest caliber.

ABI will exhibit its new robotic line at the International Baking Industry Exposition in Las Vegas this week.  One development ABI will be showcasing is the robotic system that visually appraises and automatically rejects malformed or incomplete products, while accepted products are placed onto carriers for further processing. ABI will also exhibit its rack loading and unloading technology, and its core competency in the bagel forming process.
