This year is already off to a very unprecedented start. In March, the coronavirus disrupted the entire world, and the actions put in place to slow the spread of the virus have changed human behaviour in many ways.
With the resulting closure of most restaurants and the cancellation of events that serve food, most people are now cooking their own meals at home with products supplied by the grocery industry. This huge shift has affected many food manufacturers and grocery retailers across Canada.
As a result, OKFD has drastically ramped up production to ensure customer needs are filled during these very uncertain times. The team at OKFD has done a great job adjusting to these changes and have worked very hard to increase production. The grocery industry is an important essential service and we are proud to contribute to helping Canadians.
OKFD is fortunate to be an operating business that is maintaining and increasing team member employment. It is important that our team members stay healthy, so we are following the provincial guidelines regarding proper and frequent hand-washing, proper social distancing, and we are increasing our cleaning of high-contact surfaces throughout the plant.
