U.S. Senate pushing along federal GMO labelling bill

Washington, DC – A federal bill that would require food manufacturers to use one of three types of labels to inform consumers of foods made with genetically engineered ingredients passed a procedural vote in the U.S. Senate and is expected to get final Senate approval this week. Vermont’s state law requiring GMO labelling went into effect July 1.
