January 8, 2015, Chicago — Mérieux NutriSciences Corporation has acquired Randolph Associates, Inc. and H. Randolph Inc. (the “Randolph Companies”) effective Dec. 31, 2014.

The Randolph Companies remain separate entities and will continue to be operated independently of each other.

The Randolph Companies join the Mérieux NutriSciences group, including its North American operating entity, Silliker Inc., after a significant shared history of providing safety services to the food industry. The Randolph Companies were founded in the 1970s by the late Dr. Henry E. Randolph, with an initial focus on the dairy industry. Today, the Birmingham, Alabama-based companies now provide comprehensive technical services to all food industry stakeholders under the leadership of former President Jayne Randolph.

Jim Miller, president of Silliker Inc., stated, “The acquisition of the Randolph Companies is an excellent strategic fit for Mérieux NutriSciences, a leading industry provider of technical services, and Silliker Global Certification Services, a leading accredited certification body for several GFSI benchmarked schemes.” He added, “The addition of the Randolph Companies and their dedicated professionals will allow us to continue our growth and diversify our services to address the industry’s most pressing food safety and quality management needs.”

“Based on our long relationship, it was basically impossible for us to come up with a better organization to join than the Mérieux NutriSciences group,” Randolph said. “Our clients will benefit from a wider spectrum of services provided by what is arguably the most qualified team of experts in the food industry.”
