Canada Bread buys Stonemill Bakehouse

March 7, 2017, TORONTO — Canada Bread Co. Ltd. a subsidiary of Grupo Bimbo S.A.B. de C.V., has completed the acquisition of the total shares of Stonemill Bakehouse Ltd. located in Toronto.

Stonemill Bakehouse Ltd. is a leading producer of slow fermented craft breads baked in stone ovens using 100 per cent natural, non-GMO certified and organic ingredients. This operation will position Canada Bread for further growth, complementing its current product portfolio and its distribution and manufacturing footprint. The acquisition includes well-positioned brands such as Stonemill.

The company employs approximately 100 associates and operates one production facility in Scarborough, Ont., and a store in St. Lawrence Market in Toronto.
