Vitamin D Yeast and probiotics featured at ADA expo
September 16, 2011, Montreal - Lallemand Inc. and Institut Rosell-Lallemand will present their nutritional solutions to American dietitians during the American Dietetic Association (ADA) Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo in San Diego, Sept. 24 to 27.

Vitamin D yeast and scientifically-supported probiotic formula will be presented to health professionals on booth 621.

In the recent years, vitamin D deficiency has raised public health concerns in the US. According to a recent analysis lead by FDA scientists*, the majority of American children are not getting sufficient vitamin D from sun exposure, even in summer months. At the ADA Conference, Lallemand will present its vitamin D yeast, a natural and practical solution to address vitamin D supplementation in the overall population, through Vitamin D bread or baked food for example.

A pioneer in the development and promotion of friendly bacteria in North America since nearly 40 years, Institut Rosell-Lallemand focuses today on formulating and documenting condition-specific probiotic solutions, targeting health areas such gut health and well-being, immune support, stress and anxiety, women’s health… These solutions will be presented at the ADA show. For example, the clinically-documented probiotic strain Lactobacillus plantarum 299v, distributed in the US by Jarrow Formulas (under trade name Ideal Bowel Support™ 299v) is effective in alleviating Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in patients, a condition affecting up to 20% of the population and accounting for 25 to 50 per cent of gastroenterology consultations. Probiotics are considered as the only systemic treatment for this chronic condition without side-effects of long-term usage.
