March 27, 2009, NEW YORK – Stiff the workers, take the cannoli.

A bakery owner linked to the Genovese crime family was arrested Thursday on charges of paying his employees less than minimum wage – while making them work an 80-hour week without overtime.

Walter Galiano, 57, was accused of underpaying 25 workers more than $350,000 from 2004 to last year. The Arthur Avenue Bakery boss pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court. | READ MORE
