Trans-fat ban takes effect for Boston bakeries
March 17, 2009, BOSTON, Mass. – A ban on the use of artificial trans fat in baked goods at bakeries in Boston took effect March 12 as part of the second phase of the city’s efforts to eliminate partially hydrogenated oil from foods and beverages, according to the Boston Public Health Commission (B.P.H.C).

Food service establishments in the city were required to stop using trans fats in September, but bakeries were given an additional six months to alter their menus. | READ MORE
