Breakthrough toward cure for nut allergies
Feb. 23, 2009 – British scientists have made a dramatic breakthrough in the treatment of nut allergies which could bring relief for tens of thousands.

A group of children with severe peanut allergy built up a tolerance by being given tiny daily doses in powder form.

By the end of the six-month trial they could eat up to 12 peanuts a day without going into anaphylactic shock, a severe reaction which can cause death. On average, seven children die from peanut allergy each year. | READ MORE
