Dec. 5, 2008, ASHLAND, Ohio – Lance Inc. – a manufacturer of cookies, sandwich crackers, nuts,
candies and mints based in Charlotte, N.C., with facilities in Canada – was the winning bidder in
the bankruptcy auction of Archway Cookies' assets, and plans to reopen
the bakery and produce Archway Cookies.
Lance officials hope to close on the $30 million sale by Dec. 15 and
start rehiring people as soon as possible to get the plant back in
