Chef Anthony Rose
A native Torontonian, Anthony Rose’s passion for food came alive while working with mentor David Lee at Centro. Building on his experience working in top kitchens in Northern California and New York City, Rose returned to Toronto and is now executive chef at the trend-setting Drake Hotel, where his seasonally inspired menus have earned rave reviews.
“Cooking is not just about technique,” says Rose, “but also about inspiration and being in touch with the food that surrounds you – in your neighborhood markets, in the farmers’ fields. I’m looking forward to sharing my excitement about fresh and flavorful local food with guests at the CRFA Show.”
Chef Roger Mooking
Whether in the kitchen, the recording studio or on-stage at the CRFA Show, Roger Mooking makes it sizzle. A third-generation restaurateur, Mooking trained at George Brown College and Epic at the Fairmont Royal York, and is now co-owner and executive chef at Toronto’s cutting-edge Kultura and Nyood restaurants. In addition to his restaurants, Mooking hosts “Everyday Exotic,” a popular program on Canada’s Food Network, and recently released his debut album, “Soul Food.”
Rose and Mooking join an impressive line-up of leading chefs and food personalities, including Bob Blumer (Glutton For Punishment, The Surreal Gourmet), Chef Mark McEwan (North 44, Bymark, One) Chef Giovanna Alonzi (Terroni), Chef Alex Rolland (Globe Restaurant) and Dale DeGroff, “King of Cocktails.” All will be leading live demonstrations throughout the three-day event.
Operated by the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association, the CRFA Show is Canada’s largest trade show for the hospitality industry, attracting more than 11,000 visitors last year. The CRFA Show will take place March 8-10 at the Direct Energy Centre in downtown Toronto. The CRFA Show is trade only, and is not open to the public.
